About Lessons for Old People And Its Author

Welcome to Lessons for Old People. I launched this blog after a wisdom tooth extraction in 2009. Like many of my projects, I started it after years of deliberation.

The purpose of this blog was to explain various sundry inquiries regarding technology and pop culture to my parents and their generation. Today, Baby Boomers are more equipped to understand technology than they were before.

In 2009 I wrote, "This blog will be updated as frequently as necessary, as often as possible, until my parents are filled with the knowledge they need to survive these stormy waters in this new strange millennia." At the time, I published twice weekly, then fell off as they adjusted and I took on new, career-oriented responsibilities.

As the nation enters its second pandemic year in 2021 I am unemployed and a little bored. I am attempting to update old articles and post new ones. I am grateful for your patience.

Regarding this blog's name: It was tongue-in-cheek and more about a state of mind than judgment. Now Millennials (and their skinny jeans and side parts) are the Old People online. (I had to remove my graduation date from my resume last year.)

I found this blog while Googling an obscure term. Although I am not that old yet. Found the term here. Liked the title of your blog and the humorous writing. Cheers.
